31st Annual Kolache Fest

 Canning/ Baking Contest

 September 26th, 2026

 Hallettsville KC Hall

To register & Pay online you can go to https://www.hallettsville.com/ 

·         Kolaches - Turn in one dozen kolaches in your own disposable container to the annex.

o    Prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place. 1st place will be named KOLACHE QUEEN!

Rosettes - Turn in one dozen rosettes in your own disposable container to the annex.

  • Prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place.

·         Pies & Strudel - Turn in one cold or hot pie or strudel in your own disposable container to the annex.

o    Prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place.

·         Canned goods- Turn in one 12oz jar of your canned good, fully sealed to the annex. (Can be more than 12oz)

o    Prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place.

General Rules:

·         *** NO GLASS BOTTLES ALLOWED ON THE KC HALL GROUNDS ***

·         The Hallettsville Chamber and Knights of Columbus #2433 WILL NOT be responsible for theft, damage, or injury sustained during the event.

Canning Contest Rules:

·         Eligibility: Open to general public.

·         Labeling Required: Each jar must be labeled with:

  • Contestant name & contact info (on bottom of jar)

  • Product name (e.g., “Spiced Peach Jam”)

  • Date canned

  • Processing method (water bath or pressure)

Disqualification will occur if:

·         The product is unsealed or improperly processed.

  • There is visible spoilage (cloudiness, mold, separation).

  • The recipe appears untested or unsafe.

  • The jar or lid is cracked or damaged.

Baking Contest Rules:

·         Eligibility: Open to general public

  • Registration Deadline: All entries must be pre-registered by [date].

  • Entry Labeling:

    • Name of baker (bottom of plate/container)

    • Name of recipe

    • List of all ingredients (important for allergens)

  • All entries must be homemade 

  • Presentation counts: Use disposable or clearly labeled dishes you don’t want returned.

  • Allergy awareness: Include a full list of ingredients, but judges and organizers are not responsible for allergen exposure.

  • All entries may be displayed at the event, and the organizers may use photos for promotional purposes Agreement:
